Pallets are firm base structure designed to provide surface and stability for goods going to be shipped. Along with providing strong base for consignment, pallets also helps forklift or pallet jack to lift up and move around.

As per the requirement pallets comes in different size, shape, strength and material. Usually pallets have been made with wood but due to the industrial expansion and demands now these days they made with metal and plastic too.

Pallets manufacturers always have to follow some standards and guideline during planning, designing and construction of pallets. These set of standards helps buyers to recognise what pallets they exactly wants to provide base for his consignment. Some of the standards and regulation names are mentioned below.

ISO Pallets: Under the international organization for standardization (ISO) there are six basic standards declared for pallet based on its dimensions.

GMA Pallet: Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) this is most popular and being used specially in North America.

As per its uses, strength and material pallets are broadly categorised more than twenty types some are describing following.

Export Pallets: These are made with the recycled plastic also known as one way pallets are ship away pallets.

Nestable Plastic Pallets: These plastic pallets are specifically designed to stack over on each other when they are not in use. It saves warehouse space and shipping cost.

Heavy Duty Pallets: They are incredibly strong, either made with wood, plastic or steel, enough strong to hold heavy goods.

Plastic Drum Pallets: They are required to shipping long plastic drum, May they filled with chemical, petroleum or other liquid.

New Wood Pallets: They newly made from wood log and never been used before. As per the wood used in this, it’s also categorized widely such as dry, wet, bark, no bark, high density, low density and so on. 

Recycle Wood Pallets: They used to make with used pallets wood and utilise it again and again.
