Jig and Fixture are two different production tools used in the cutting and machining processes.  Jig It is a work-holding tool that holds, supports, and locates the workpiece and guides the cutting device for a specific operation. An example of a jig tool is when a key is copied, the original key is kept as a jig so the new key can have the same production path as the old one. The Jig Tool guides the cutting or machining tool. The most common type of jig is Drill Jig, which suggests the drill bit for creating holes at desired locations. Drill jigs, woodworking jigs, and welding jigs are also used in various industries quite extensively. Woodworking jigs are useful for creating intricate wooden designs.  Fixture This is a tool that not just holds and supports the workpiece but also ensures its right placement for a precise operation. There are some machine operations that are easy, simple, and can be completed without much tension. There is no specific tool or device without which, that job won’t be completed. However, in some operations of the mechanical field, there are tools as well as devices required. Without these, not much of the work can be done and results cannot be obtained. Hence, the device that guides the tool for working is known as a jig. However, the device that is used for holding the thing in the correct position is known as a fixture. These are well used for the good functioning of the CNC die-making machines as well. There are many different uses of jigs as well as fixtures. This is because they are helpful in making a more rapid as well as accurate manufacturing. The cost of manufacturing is much less and affordable when done with jigs and fixtures. Many of the uses are stated below. They help in reducing the production cost because there is an elimination of the unused work as well as tool se
